Research Paper Submission Requirements and Guidelines

Manuscript Submission:
• Research Papers are to be submitted to the Secretary of the Northern California Research Lodge at ncrlsecretary@gmail.com.
• If you do not have access to the Internet, please contact the Secretary of the Northern California Research Lodge at (415) 292-9114.
• To submit a manuscript, please provide your name, institution, mailing address, and e-mail information. Your e-mail information is very important.
Guidelines for Manuscript Preparation:
• Authors are urged to submit manuscripts as MS Word or Adobe PDF tiles.
• Paper Format: Double spaced, 1" margins, 12 point, Times font. Journal article quality standards are expected (i.e., title, author, abstract, key words, and references).
• Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources must sign an agreement for transfer of copyright to the publisher upon acceptance.
• Before publication of your paper by the Northern California Research Lodge, the NCRL must receive your signed Transfer of Copyright Agreement Form. While all authors should submit a signed Agreement, one designated author may sign on behalf of the other authors, but ONLY IF the designated author has secured written authorization so do so from all other authors. The designated author must be able to produce such written authorization if requested.
• All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become property of the publisher.
• A cover letter should indicate clearly that the work being submitted for publication constitutes original research and that it has not been published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
• Note that uploading of higher resolution images may take significantly longer; therefore authors are strongly encouraged to submit lower resolution images during the review process to streamline uploading.
• We recommend submitting one or more PDF documents which contain all text, tables and figures during initial review.
• Upon re-submission and accepted, authors will be able to submit publication quality high resolution images as needed.

Cite in the text by author and date (for example, (Smith, 1993». Please prepare an alphabetical reference list in accordance with the Chicago Manual of Style. If unpublished references are used, copies of the work should be included. Please see below samples:
